We have been bombarded with mentions of Sharia Law and of how badly Muslim women under Sharia Law are treated. ( A red herring if ever there was one. What does Sharia Law have to do with a mosque in the US where Sharia Law is not practiced. )
Basically we have been told by a bunch of Islam hating, xenophobic, and in many cases bigoted talking heads that Islam is a religion of extremist that want to blow us up. Hey, it's good for ratings, bad for society.
Now of course to say that you have to ignore the millions of Muslims that live here in the United States peacefully and love this country just as much as Christians do.
The sad part is that many of the critics know very little about Islam and have not taken the time to actually read the Qur'an before denouncing an entire religion.
I'm not telling you to like Islam but I would suggest actually reading the Qura'an for yourself and coming to your own conclusions about the religion. Don't take the word of someone who profits financially or politically from spreading divisiveness.
If you still walk away not wanting to be tolerant of Islam, fine. But at least it will be an informed deciscion.

Since the quran is published from longest to shortest verse and not in order of revelation one read "Simple Koran".
It is arranged in order of revelation.
One can notice the tone of Mohammad while in the minority, through the early carravan robbing days to the days of absolut power.
The law of abrogation in the koran means that if two verses contradict then the new verse tosses the older one to the scrape heap. It makes it obsolete.
In the "obsolete" verses a somewhat tolerant Mohammad tries to convince Jews and Christians of his prophethood.
He the current verses he more or less declares war on them, as well as other non muslims.
Don't be fooled jihad means WAR

After Muhummad came to power is when his tone changed and the later more violent verses were "revealed" to him. To encourage one to read the quran without this knowkedge aforehand is suspect, at best. If you read the quran and you see peaceful friendly verses, please know that they were abrogated by later medinan suras, which means that they are no longer valid. Also, please know that a muslim is not obligated to tell you, a non-believer, the truth. In all honesty, under taqiyya, they are permitted to lie, if lying will save a muslim or islam from being painted in a negative light. A simple wikipedia search for "taqiyya" will show that I am correct in my assertion. People please educate yourselves and not fall for this obvious con job.

I know this to be the truth because i am a former muslim who has read the quran over 7 times and I have read most of the "credible" hadith that were written. There are 2 hadith that support this stance. islam, has been white-washed to the western world to make it appear that it is something that it is not. The verses that speak for violence against non-muslims, especially jews, is real! The sole goal of a muslim is to bring converts to islam. period. If or when you read the quran, you will see it for yourself. Also, please do not let someone give you their interpretation of the quran or tell you that you need to speak arabic to "fully" understand it's meaning. The english version by A. Yusef Ali is the most accurate translation there is so if you want to read a quran, read that translation. Also take care not to read the translations from saudi as it has been proven that they have altered the quran, which in itself is blasphemy. Islam is not a religion of peace. It is a theocratic doctorine meant to control your public and private life. In islam there is no individualism. no democracy. no real justice for women, even though they purport that there is. Also, in islam, gays are to be murdered and people who turn away from islam, apostate, are to be murdered. so much for the religion of peace, huh? and if you really want to see islam in action in a western country, try looking at youtube videos done by swedish, danish, belgian, and UK citizens speaking about how their laws are be slowly taken over by sharia law. again, muslims are mandated by the quran to proseltyze and help spread islam, even if they have to lie to do it.

I have not only read the qur'an; I have studied it for what it is: A Blasphemy to Yahweh, the Creator of Everything & the Holy Bible, which doesn't have Any Contradictions!!! The qur'an is even Smaller than the New Testament, so how can this qur'an be considered a reliable source? It cannot simply because it was written by 1 angry & frustrated man who was tired of the idol worshiping around him, when he should have turned back to the God of Ishmael: Yahweh!
