The NAACP has been in the news a lot lately. This got me to thinking that although I am a member of the NAACP is it still relevant now in 2010. How is the NAACP helping African Americans. Please give your answer below and feel free to give your feedback by making a comment.

It would be wonderful to live in a world where we didn't need the NAACP. Take a moment to think of what such a place would be like.
Imagine a world without discrimination of any sort nor racial disparity, a world where no child left behind is more than a campaign slogan, a world with low unemployment numbers and abundant opportunities, where school systems WORKED and students stayed in them and there were no need to grade on a curve because all students everywhere were all high achievers, not just in the good neighborhoods, and drug wars, gangs and violence are a thing of the distance past. Imagine, if you will, that in that place everyone has equal access to proper health care services and treatment, regardless of pre-existing conditions or age. Imagine a country where our civil rights were not threated by those whose jobs it is to protect them, by people who don't steal federal elections fraudulently, and police brutality and oppression was unheard of. We'd call that place the America, the beautiful, the American dream.
We're *SO* not there yet. But the NAACP continues to fight the fine fight to make that dream a little more real each day, and we need your support.
