Juan Williams gets 2 million dollar contract from Fox News

Fox News Chief Executive Roger Ailes handed Williams a new three-year contract Thursday morning, in a deal that amounts to nearly $2 million, a considerable bump up from his previous salary, the Tribune Washington Bureau has learned. The Fox News contributor will now appear exclusively and more frequently on the cable news network and have a regular column on FoxNews.com. [ SOURCE LA TIMES ]

What was his previous salary?

Though unfortunate I think NPR made the right decision for their programing. Mr. William has a right to free speech, but he is also a public figure and in the media field his image can be perceived as representative of his employers. I've been listening to Mr. Williams for years on NPR and like him, respect him. But for me now knowing his viewpoints on Muslims, his credibility has diminished. I don't want to hear my supposedly unbiased news from a bigot, if I did I'd listen to Rush.
That said, I'm glad he got the contract with Fox, he is now where he belongs.
