Three African Americans win House seats



Three new black lawmakers will be joining the House of Representatives this year. It doesn't make a difference whether they are democrat or republican winning a house seat is a big deal and all are to be commended. Congratulations to all three of the winners. George Cook AAreports.com

The three winners are.

Terri Sewell Democrat


Terri Sewell defeated Selma resident Don Chamberlain for the 7th Congressional District seat, became the first black woman to represent Alabama in Washington.

Tim Scott Republican


Tim Scott easily defeated perennial Democratic candidate Ben Frasier and five third-party candidates to win the 1st Congressional District

Allen West Republican



Allen West defeated incumbent U.S. Rep. Ron Klein, D-Boca Raton to represent Florida's 22nd Congressional district.

George, thank you for posting this article. As a conservative, I have been frustrated with the blogasphere when putting out good message about black gop candidates and now that there are finally two in office you will watch them and broaden the diversity of thought amongst our people.
