Nelson Mandela is not dead. Read ANC statement

It appears that last weekend some idiot took to twitter and spread the rumor that Nelson Mandela had died. You can imagine South Africa's and Nelson Mandela's surprise at hearing this. It is of course not true. Check out the ANC's ( African National Congress ) statement below. George Cook AAreports.com. Author of the Kindle book Let's Talk Honestly: One Black Man's Thoughts $1.50

Madiba death hoax malicious and insensitive – ANC
16 January 2011

The weekend hoax on Internet micro-blogging site Twitter reporting on the "death" of African National Congress (ANC) stalwart and former President Nelson Mandela is not only malicious but insensitive to the Madiba family and the South African nation.

The ANC strongly condemns individuals or groupings behind such a hoax, which is meant to create an atmosphere of panic and anxiety in the country. It is only people without a soul who would spread such lies about our living icon, while he is still alive. It also goes against the African culture and tradition to claim that a living person is dead.

We call on Twitter and other Internet blogging sites to investigate and find a way of stamping out the public misuse of their social networks. Those behind this hoax are certainly people without any interest in the political and economic stability of South Africa, which we very much owe to the immense contribution by comrade Nelson Mandela – the country’s first democratically-elected President.
