Birther lie exposed. The constitution never mentions 2 US born parents.

After posting a story about Gov. Deval patrick calling the birther movement ridiculous I recieved many responses on Facebook. A few quoted the Consitution of the United States as saying that a US president must have two parents who are US citizens. It sounds good but the problem is that that statement is no where in the constituion, When it comes to the qualifications for president the constitution reads:

No Person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Now I'm no Rhodes Scholar but I'm pretty sure there is no mention of two US born parents in there. So I guess the birthers have to find abother mistruth to cling to.

Don't take my word for it. You can read the constitution here: Constitution of the United States

Maybe it's time for those who cloak themselves in the US Constitution to actually read it.

Anonymous, you are just like many others - you don't read and make stuff up! Nobody in this article called any disagreement racist. Mr. Cook just pointed out that the argument is WRONG. Sounds more like you are the jerk and the liar.
