!@#$ the poor! by George Cook AAreports.com
You can post this in the !@#$ that happens when people don't come out and vote file. Sadly many who will be affected by these cuts did not come out to vote in 2010. Now sadly in 2011 and headed into 2012 they will feel the consequences of that decision.
As we ready for a showdown on the 2012 federal budget the over all theme the republicans have to lower the deficit is becoming quite clear. It can be summed up in three words. @#%& the poor!
Here are some proposed budget cuts you should know about:
. Cuts to the Head Start Program
•Cuts $2.17 trillion in Medicaid spending, some of it by eliminating 32 million people from health care coverage, and some of it through massive cuts in nursing home coverage.
•Cuts $750 billion from programs for low-income people other than Medicaid, including Pell Grants, food stamps, education, training programs, and social service
Sadly this all could have been avoided. We have to learn that elections have consequences. We have to stop crying after the fact and become proactive to fight for what low income and the working poor need.
So in 2011 and in 2012 vote in every election, local, county, state, and federal. If you don't vote then shut the !@#$ up , bend over, and quietly take your medicine.
