Recently I posted a story about Oklahoma State Rep. Sally Kern making a racist remark about minorities making less because they don't work as hard. A reader of that story named Steven Rathke replied to it saying that republicans are not racist and that many making comments such as Kern's claim to represent the GOP. I don't know if Mr. Rathke is a republican or not but he makes a good point.
It's not fair to lump all republicans together. I know I would not like to be held accountable for something the New Black Panthers, Louis Farrakhan, or Jeremiah Wright may have said or done.
You can throw Flava Flav and Lil Wayne in there too.
I think most people who are republicans are good people who have a different but yet misguided political view point....LOL. Just joking people.
I don't believe most republicans are racist but it does seem that many who make insensitive remarks like Kern's are republicans.
I think if the GOP wants to change this perception they need to come out more vocally against racist comments like Kern's and emails like the one sent by Orange County Republican Marilyn Davenport. And I am talking about on a national just not local level.
To say you are against racism is not good enough. We are all judged by our actions. So to the GOP I would like to quote my fellow New Jerseyan and rapper Redman and say , " It's time for some action!."
