I decided to post this poem after reading all of the uproar online about the BS article posted by Psychology Today that basically called black women ugly. I want all my beautiful black sistas to know that you are beautiful and no stupid article can change that. Read my poem below:

You may be slim in the waist
and cute in the face
but you are beautiful

You may have a little gut
and a whole lotta butt
but you are beautiful

You may have a whole lotta hair
or it may be real short up there
but you are beautiful

You may have thick lips
or a whole lotta hips
but you are beautiful

Why are you so beautiful?

Because you are the mothers
of human life on earth
you were the first to give birth

So there is no way that I can even try to place upon your beauty
any type of worth.
