In some great news for President Obama and some depressing news for the " is this the best we can do GOP " Herman Cain has announced his bid to become president of the United States. In his announcement he doesn't give many ideas on how he will make things better for us all but just simply says that he will. Oh but he does takes the time to trumpet his accomplishments in the business world.
Cain appears to be a likable man but to many African Americans he will be no more relatable than Newt Gingrich or Rick Santorum. He has to know that and instead of hammering home the things he has in common with black voters he does what most black conservatives do and runs from those similarities as if that makes him more of a conservative. He is alienating one possible if yes small base to cater to another which may be great for a primary but not so great in a general election.
