Newark NJ to name first female police chief in it's history

For the first time in its 175-year history, a woman will soon be in charge of the Newark Police Department.

Sheilah Coley, a military and police veteran who once oversaw patrols in the city’s notoriously bloody South Ward, will be named acting police chief today, two city officials said.
