Why Herman Cain would be a selfish bastard if he dropped out of race.

I am in a panicked mood right now. The mere prospect of Herman Cain dropping out of the race for the republican nomination for president has me nervous as hell.

Mr. Cain is worried about the effect this campaign and his trying to screw every woman in a 10 mile radius is having on his wife and family.

That selfish bastard. What about me!?!?

I would have the same dilemma that many bloggers will have if Herman Cain drops out of the race, we wont be able to write about whatever dumb sh** Herman has done that day.

You see Mr. Cain is the gift that keeps on giving to bloggers. Slow news day. Don't worry Herman will go fu** something up and viola you have a new story.

I mean who else will say some dumb sh** like:

"...Blacks are not wealthy enough to Tea Party."

"......If your poor it's your fault."

 "...the democratic plantation."

" people are brainwashed by democrats."

 " 9, 9 , 9."

Who else can not know what the fu** he is talking about and break into song to cover it up?

 Don't go Herman! Don't go.

I mean Herman Cain was like a black liberals dream come true. A prototypical self hating and pandering conservative that was even a bigger turnoff to conservatism than Clarence Thomas. Because unlike justice Thomas Herman Cain actually talks and lets all the foolishness inside his head out.

Mr. Cain can not and must not drop out of the race. I'm not saying this for purely personal reasons either. Think about the devastating effects his dropping out could have on the US Economy.

 * Late night joke writers would have to be laid off.

 * Lawyers that specialize in sexual harassment cases could face a 75% decline in business.

 * The sales of condoms would drop dramatically.

 * Sales of Viagra and Cialis would plummet

So you see Mr. Cain this is not about you but about the United States of America. We can't make it without you. we need you. I NEED YOU. Stay in this race for your country and more importantly for me.

Interview with bodybuilder and IFBB Pro, Candice Carr-Archer

Hi this is George Cook at Every once in awhile I like to feature someone who does something a little different or unique. I was lucky enough to get an interview with bodybuilder and IFBB pro Candice Car-Archer. I know many of you want to work out so why not check out our interview and get a few tips from a real pro. Again thanks to Miss Carr-Archer for doing this interview.

George Cook AAReports interview with IFBB pro Candice Carr Archer

George Cook- Please let us know a little about about yourself ?

Candice Carr-Archer- I am from the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean (It is actually Trinidad and Tobago with Trinidad being the larger of the two islands). I am the elder to two (2) sisters and my sister and I were both tom boys when growing up so we were always very active growing up.

George Cook - What got you involved with bodybuilding and training ?

Candice Carr-Archer- I did martial arts (Shotokan) for several years before bodybuilding. Actually I wanted to get stronger for martial arts so I started weight training and I eventually 'gave up' the Shotokan.

George Cook- What are you feelings on the sport and how long do you see yourself competing in it ?

Candice Carr-Archer- I love the sport of bodybuilding however, I am of the opinion that the sport is not given enough recognition as other sports. The sport and by extension its benefits need to be showcased.

George Cook- What is it like and how are you feeling just before a contest ?

Candice Carr-Archer- Before a contest I am so hyped sometimes its hard for me to Its a good feeling to see the rewards of my hard work and I simply look forward to being on stage.

George Cook- What do you like to do when you are not training or in your down time?

Candice Carr-Archer- I enjoy going to the movies and the beach.

George Cook- Many women want to workout not necessarily to compete but just to be in better shape. What is your advice to those just starting out?

Candice Carr-Archer- Be patient as many women start to work out and get frustrated and quit when they don't see the results they desire. As the saying goes slow and steady wins the takes time to get toned and lose body fat......just look at some of years many athletes have been training to attain their goals. Fad diets are a quick fix that don't yield long lasting results and can be detrimental to the body as these diets often lack the correct nutritional balance.

A combination of a balanced diet with at least five meals a day and a good exercise regime (weight training and cardio) will certainly give you the body you want once you go the distance.

George Cook- Please let us know about any website or Facebook page that you have where readers can learn more about you ?

Candice Carr-Archer- I have a facebook page its -

Colin Powell: Tea Party Will Not ‘Produce A Presidential Candidate Who Will Win’

Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has no faith in the Tea Party’s ability to produce a president. This he noted today in a discussion with Christiane Amanpour on This Week, where he lamented the “very tense” tone currently in Washington and attributed some of that to the obstinacy of the Tea Party. Watch his statements below:

Henry Louis Gates New Book: Life Upon These Shores: Looking at African American History, 1513-2008

Hi I have found a perfect gift for someone who is really into Black History and wants to know about our past. That gift would be Henry Louis fates new book Life Upon These Shores: Looking at African American History, 1513-2008. The title explain it all. Read more about the book below: George Cook

Life Upon These Shores: Looking at African American History, 1513-2008 Book Description:

Henry Louis Gates, Jr., gives us a sumptuously illustrated landmark book tracing African American history from the arrival of the conquistadors to the election of Barack Obama.

Informed by the latest, sometimes provocative scholarship and including more than seven hundred images—ancient maps, fine art, documents, photographs, cartoons, posters—Life Upon These Shores focuses on defining events, debates, and controversies, as well as the signal achievements of people famous and obscure. Gates takes us from the sixteenth century through the ordeal of slavery, from the Civil War and Reconstruction through the Jim Crow era and the Great Migration; from the civil rights and black nationalist movements through the age of hip-hop to the Joshua generation. By documenting and illuminating the sheer diversity of African American involvement in American history, society, politics, and culture, Gates bracingly disabuses us of the presumption of a single “black experience.”

Life Upon These Shores is a book of major importance, a breathtaking tour de force of the historical imagination.

African American Athiest

Here at AAreports I try to cover many different topics in the Black Community from as many different angles as possible. Some times those stories are not very popular and some strike a controversial chord. That does not mean we should not discuss them. I found an article in the NY Times about black atheist that I wanted to share and get your opinions on. George Cook Author of the Kindle book Let's Talk Honestly: One Black Man's Thoughts $1.50

The Unbelievers

RONNELLE ADAMS came out to his mother twice, first about his homosexuality, then about his atheism.

“My mother is very devout,” said Mr. Adams, 30, a Washington resident who has published an atheist children’s book, “Aching and Praying,” but who in high school considered becoming a Baptist preacher. “She started telling me her issues with homosexuality, which were, of course, Biblical,” he said. “ ‘I just don’t care what the Bible says about that,’ I told her, and she asked why. ‘I don’t believe that stuff anymore.’ It got silent. She was distraught. She told me she was more bothered by that than the revelation I was gay.”

This was in 2000, and Mr. Adams did not meet another black atheist in Washington until 2009, when he found the Facebook group called Black Atheists, which immediately struck a chord. “I felt like, ‘100 black atheists? Wow!’ ” he said.

In the two years since, Black Atheists has grown to 879 members from that initial 100, YouTube confessionals have attracted thousands, blogs like “Godless and Black” have gained followings, and hundreds more have joined Facebook groups like Black Atheist Alliance (524 members) to share their struggles with “coming out” about their atheism.

Feeling isolated from religious friends and families and excluded from what it means to be African-American, people turn to these sites to seek out advice and understanding, with some of them even finding a date. And having benefited from the momentum online, organizations like African Americans for Humanism and Center for Inquiry-Harlem have well-attended meet-up groups, and others like Black Atheists of America and Black Nonbelievers have been founded.

African-Americans are remarkably religious even for a country known for its faithfulness, as the United States is. According to the Pew Forum 2008 United States Religious Landscape Survey, 88 percent of African-Americans believe in God with absolute certainty, compared with 71 percent of the total population, with more than half attending religious services at least once a week.

Nation’s top literary awards go to African-American Women

Jesymn Ward
Jesmyn Ward’s novel Salvage the Bones, a harrowing and heartfelt tale of rural Mississippi blacks leading up to and facing Hurricane Katrina, won the 2011 National Book Award for Fiction last week.

Here's a synopsis of the book

A hurricane is building over the Gulf of Mexico, threatening the coastal town of Bois Sauvage, Mississippi, and Esch's father is growing concerned. A hard drinker, largely absent, he doesn't show concern for much else. Esch and her three brothers are stocking food, but there isn't much to save. Lately, Esch can't keep down what food she gets; she's fourteen and pregnant. Her brother Skeetah is sneaking scraps for his prized pitbull's new litter, dying one by one in the dirt. Meanwhile, brothers Randall and Junior try to stake their claim in a family long on child's play and short on parenting.

As the twelve days that make up the novel's framework yield to their dramatic conclusion, this unforgettable family-motherless children sacrificing for one another as they can, protecting and nurturing where love is scarce-pulls itself up to face another day. A big-hearted novel about familial love and community against all odds, and a wrenching look at the lonesome, brutal, and restrictive realities of rural poverty, Salvage the Bones is muscled with poetry, revelatory, and real.

Also the National Book Award for Poetry went to Nikky Finney for her fourth collection, Head Off & Split, published by TriQuarterly, an imprint of Northwestern University Press.

Here's a brief synopsis of the book:

The poems in Nikky Finney's breathtaking new collection Head Off & Split sustain a sensitive and intense dialogue with emblematic figures and events in African American life: from civil rights matriarch Rosa Parks to former secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, from a brazen girl strung out on lightning to a terrified woman abandoned on a rooftop during Hurricane Katrina. Finney s poetic voice is defined by an intimacy that holds a soft yet exacting eye on the erotic, on uncanny political and family events, like her mother s wedding waltz with South Carolina senator Strom Thurmond, and then again on the heartbreaking hilarity of an American president s final State of the Union address.

Artful and intense, Finney's poems ask us to be mindful of what we fraction, fragment, cut off, dice, dishonor, or throw away, powerfully evoking both the lawless and the sublime.

FAMU band director fired after alleged hazing death of band member

Robert Champion
As authorities continue to investigate the suspected hazing death of an FAMU drum major ( Robert Chanpion ), the university has elected to fire its longtime band director, Julian White.

"Dr. White has been terminated from employment at the university," said FAMU president James Ammons, citing White's "inability to stop hazing in the department of music and in the band."

"We are serious, this has to stop," Ammons said in an interview with the Sentinel. "The highest priority we have as a university is protecting the health, safety and well-being of our students."

The news comes one day after Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demings announced that hazing was involved in the death of Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University drum major Robert Champion.

Champion collapsed aboard a parked charter bus in front of the Rosen Plaza hotel Saturday night after the Florida Classic football game in which the FAMU band performed during halftime.

He was pronounced dead a short time later at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital. The 26-year-old was a first-year drum major poised to become the top student in the band next year.

Ammons said the Tallahassee university's campus community has been rocked by the death. He said a newly formed task force will begin work soon to assess the extent and nature of the hazing problem.

"There is a dark cloud over this campus and the students, the faculty, the administration are all just heartbroken that we have lost someone like Robert Champion in his prime," he said.

Cain takes veiled swipe at Obama's heritage in Iowa mailer

Apparently Herman Cain doesn't believe that President Obama is "black enough".

In an 7 page mailer to Iowa voters Herman Cain says he believes he will be the 2012 GOP nominee because he’s a descendant of slaves who can garner a large share of the black vote, he didn’t inherit a dime, he has traveled the globe for years, and he’s a believer in Jesus Christ.

The descendant of slaves reference is a veiled shot at President Obama's mixed heritage. Cain will never admit it but he is definitely saying that he is more "black " than Obama even though Obama can trace his ancestry directly back to Africa. Buy hey never let the facts get in the way of a good story.

That's real nice coming from a guy who claims that race doesn't matter. You know the guy that says he is a black american not African American.

With that statement Cain is trying to pander to black voters. Sadly he doesn't realize that in the black community any statement from him resonates as much as one from Rush Limbaugh.

Mr. Cain needs to stop lying first to himself and then to republicans that he can get black voters because he's black. He can't get more of the black vote than say Newt Gingrich or Ron Paul.

Black voters are much smarter than that. The majority vote for who they feel can best do the job. Because when you are talking about your wallet the only color that matters is green and you just want somebody that can put more green in your pocket and food on your families table.

Herman Cain, Mr. Descendant Of Slaves is not that somebody.

Obama signs bipartisan bill to help jobless vets

[ SOURCE ] Heralding a rare moment of bipartisan agreement, President Barack Obama signed into law Monday legislation aimed at helping unemployed veterans find work while putting more cash in the hands of companies with government contracts.

The legislation, which creates tax breaks for companies that hire jobless veterans, marks the first proposal from Obama's $447 billion jobs bill to be signed into law. The rest of the package of new taxes and spending has largely failed to garner support from Republican lawmakers.

"Because Democrats and Republicans came together, I'm proud to sign those proposals into law," Obama said during a signing ceremony Monday.

The veterans' legislation had overwhelming support from both parties, with the House passing the measure 422-0 and the Senate approving it 95-0. In addition to the tax breaks for businesses, it also beefs up job-training and counseling programs for unemployed veterans.

The legislation also repeals a 2006 law that would have required the federal, state and local governments to withhold 3 percent of their payments to nearly all contractors. That statute, which doesn't take effect until 2013, was supposed to pressure contractors to pay their taxes in full, but lawmakers now say the law would deny cash to companies that need it to hire more workers.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said passage of the bill showed that it is possible for both parties to reach a consensus.

"By focusing on areas of agreement — rather than partisan stimulus bills — we can pass legislation to help foster job growth. Neither of these measures alone is going to solve the jobs crisis, but they'll provide relief to job creators and help American veterans," McConnell said.

McConnell praised Obama for inviting Republican Sen. Scott Brown of Massachusetts to attend the ceremony. It was Brown who had introduced the 3 percent withholding bill.

Brown was joined on stage with the president by two other GOP lawmakers — Florida Rep. Jeff Miller and Tennessee Rep. Diane Black — as well as a handful of Democrats.

The tax credits for hiring veterans will cost the government an estimated $95 million — a tiny fraction of Obama's overall jobs plan. The credits would be as much as $9,600 for companies hiring disabled vets who have looked for work for more than half a year. The size of the credit would be based on the worker's salary and how long the worker was unemployed.

The programs would be financed mostly by extending a fee the Veterans Affairs Department charges to back mortgages.

Erasing the withholding requirement for contractors would reduce federal revenues by an estimated $11.2 billion over the coming decade. It would be paid for by making it harder for some elderly people to qualify for Medicaid by changing the formula used to determine their eligibility.

Many economists have said annulling the withholding law would have a minimal impact on hiring.

Proposed republican backed voter laws would disenfranchise 5 million voters

I want to share an email I and other NAACP members recieved from NAACP President Ben Jealous. The email addresses the fact that over 5 million Americans, mostly minority and elderly could have their right to vote taken from them in GOP backed voter laws take effect. Read more below. George Cook

Email from Ben Jealous

Imagine if everyone in Manhattan, Detroit and Chicago suddenly lost their ability to vote.

That's the number of people -- 5 million and counting -- affected by passed and pending changes to voting laws in states around the country. When all is said and done, millions more could be disenfranchised.

The people passing these laws lie. They say that it's about voter fraud. What it's really about is systematically suppressing voters of color, students and the elderly.

NBA stars to play in Obama's basketball campaign fundraiser

A number of NBA stars have committed to play in an exhibition game to raise money for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.

The mix of hoops and political fundraising will be staged Dec. 12 for the "Obama Classic Basketball Game" in Washington, D.C.

The venue for the game has not been finalized, but a number of former and current NBA players already have committed to participate. They include: Dwight Howard, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, Carmelo Anthony, Ray Allen and Chris Bosh.

Sources also said Baron Davis, Vince Carter, Alonzo Mourning. Jamal Crawford, Rudy Gay, Kevin Love, Russell Westbrook, Amare Stoudemire, Blake Griffin, Tyler Hansbrough, Derek Fisher, Antawn Jamison, Juwan Howard, Quentin Richardson, Dahntay Jones, Brandon Knight, Jerry Stackhouse, John Wall, Dikembe Mutombo, Patrick Ewing and Doc Rivers are expected to play. Veteran WNBA star and all-time leading scorer Tina Thompson and former USC great Cheryl Miller also is expected to participate.

Tickets, which range from $100 to $5,000 for courtside seats, are not on sale yet but will made available to the general public, an Obama campaign official said. Proceeds will go to the Obama Victory Fund, which is jointly held by the Democratic National Committee and Obama's re-election campaign.

Whether Obama will directly take part in the event was left an open question.

"The President's participation is to be determined," the campaign official said.

Obama treated himself to a pick-up game with several current and former NBA stars in August 2010. But his basketball exploits have been less publicized since an errant elbow in a game with White House staffers and officials required 12 stitches in the President's lip.

Presidential Proclamation -- National Family Week, 2011

The White House
Office of the Press Secretary

Presidential Proclamation -- National Family Week, 2011

For generations, American families have empowered our sons and daughters with boundless love, giving them the courage to pursue their dreams. This week, we celebrate the threads of compassion and unity that tie our families together, enrich our communities, and strengthen the fabric of our Nation.
My Administration remains steadfast in our commitment to families across America. To ensure our children get a strong start, we are bolstering early learning programs and promoting education reform that will do more to bring every student the best our schools have to offer. By investing in Pell Grants and community colleges, we are working to make higher education affordable for more families and build a workforce of tomorrow that will excel in the global economy. And by taking executive action to lighten financial burdens on many middle class families, we are making it more affordable to pay back student loans and easier for homeowners to refinance their mortgages. As our families work hard to meet their obligations, these actions will give them the help they need to thrive in the years to come.
During National Family Week, let us also reflect on the contributions and sacrifices of our service members and their loved ones. Our troops and military families serve with valor at home and overseas, and as a Nation we have a moral obligation to serve these patriots as well as they have served us. To better fulfill this promise, First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden launched Joining Forces earlier this year, an initiative that challenges all Americans to make a difference in the lives of our veterans and military families.
As we gather with our loved ones this holiday season, let us pause to give thanks to all those who share in the trials and triumphs of our lives. Our families illuminate our days and bring meaning to our years, and their love has the power to see us through our greatest challenges. This week and throughout the year, let us strive to give back to our friends, families, communities, and neighbors, and to work together in pursuit of our highest ambitions.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim November 20 through November 26, 2011, as National Family Week. I invite all States, communities, and individuals to join in observing this week with appropriate ceremonies and activities to honor our Nation's families.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this eighteenth day of November, in the year of our Lord two thousand eleven, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-sixth.

Idaho man charged with trying to assassinate President Obama

Oscar Oretega
An Idaho man accused of firing an assault rifle at the White House believed he was Jesus and thought President Barack Obama was the anti-Christ. He had become increasingly agitated with the federal government, and at one point suggested the president was planning to implant computer tracking chips into children, according to court documents and those who knew him.

Oscar Ramiro Ortega-Hernandez, 21, was charged Thursday with attempting to assassinate the president or his staff. He is accused of firing nine rounds at the White House last Friday night — one of them cracking a window of the first family's living quarters — when Obama and the first lady were away. If convicted, Ortega faces up to life in prison.

Ortega was arrested Wednesday at a western Pennsylvania hotel when a desk clerk there recognized him and called police.

I don't because I am fortunate enough to have a job and more importantly it's getting too damned cold to occupy anything...LOL

This assessment is not only important for identifying programs for competition; it is designed to be used by programs to identify areas in need of improvement so they can target their efforts where they are most needed. Rigorous research has shown that the CLASS: Pre-K is linked to important child outcomes, such as academic achievement and behavior.

Improved Training and Assistance in Head Start Programs. The Obama Administration’s new network of evidence-based training will prepare Head Start classrooms around the country to undertake continuous improvements in their program. Those who participate in these services can improve their programs so they are less likely to meet the criteria for competition.

Head Start Centers of Excellence. Twenty centers have been selected by the Obama Administration for distinction as a Head Start Center of Excellence, based on the quality of their program. These Head Start Centers are producing positive, measurable outcomes related to school readiness for children; supporting families; and increasing staff competence. Information about their approaches and models of service will be disseminated to other Head Start and early childhood programs across the country to guide other grantees on a path to excellence.

Mentorship Across Head Start Programs. More than 125 grantees were selected for a 17 month pilot that pairs Head Start programs with mentors who have the expertise to help them improve the quality of their programs. Selected grantees have proposed a variety of models that include on-site mentoring and distance mentoring through the use of technology.
Promoting School Readiness for America’s Children

The years prior to kindergarten are among the most significant in shaping a child’s foundation for learning and school success. Today’s announcement builds on a comprehensive early learning agenda to help provide the support needed for children to succeed in school and in life:

President Obama’s Race to the Top: Early Learning Challenge is a first-of-its-kind competition that will provide $500 million to winning states to bring innovation and quality improvement to all early learning programs, including Head Start, public pre-K, child care, and private preschools to close the achievement gap between low-income children and their peers. The Race to the Top-Early Learning Challenge focuses on outcomes and results in early learning, challenging governors to develop new approaches to raising the bar across state early learning settings to adopt rigorous standards across programs; undertake efforts to improve the early education workforce; and ensure that more children enter kindergarten ready for success.

President Obama’s call to strengthen our nation’s child care providers was presented in the FY 2012 budget, including principles for reauthorization of the child care subsidy system which serves 1.6 million low-income children and families each month. The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act invested $2 billion in the Child Care and Development Fund, to support child care assistance and quality improvements. The Administration is working with State partners to raise the level of quality in child care programs by developing systems that set standards for quality, provide parents with information about the quality of child care programs, and provide pathways for providers to meet higher standards.

The Affordable Care Act provided $1.5 billion over 5 years in funding for the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program, which relies on evidence-based home visiting strategies that help families create a nurturing environment for young children. President Obama recognizes the importance of promoting healthy development and improving maternal and child health outcomes in the early years. This program connects families to a range of services – including health, early education, early intervention and more – in order to better ensure that children are healthy and prepared for school and life. Effective home visiting programs can have powerful positive impacts on maternal and child health, child maltreatment, parenting skills, children’s cognitive, language, and social-emotional development, and school readiness.

Tammy Harris is missing!

Tammy Harris,46, was reported missing on October 24, by her sister who has custody of Harris' daughter.

Harris calls daily to speak with her daughter but has not done so since October 16 when they made plans to go to the fair. Tammy Harris' cell phone is now out of service.

Harris sister has called friends and family, but no one claims to have seen or heard from her in weeks.

A Sheriff's Deputy stopped by Harris' home on October 24 and found both televisions on and everything was neat and clean. There wasn't any signs of a struggle.

Harris doesn't own a car and family say she's never disappeared like this. Harris has acquaintances in McAlmont and could be at a residence in the area. When her sisters went to known addresses in the area, they said they haven't seen her in weeks.

NBA offers players new deal and sets a Wednesday deadline to take it

Commissioner David Stern gave NBA players an offer and a deadline: Accept a chance to earn up to 51 percent of basketball-related income by Wednesday or get ready for a deal that's a whole lot worse.

He wouldn't call it an ultimatum, but it didn't sure sit well with the union.

"The players will not be intimidated," attorney Jeffrey Kessler said early Sunday after eight hours of negotiations stretched late into the night. "They want to play, they want a season, but they are not going to sacrifice the future of all NBA players under these types of threats of intimidation. It's not happening on Derek Fisher's watch; it's not happening on Billy Hunter's watch; it's not happening on the watch of this executive committee."
Kessler said the proposal was really 50.2 percent for the players and called the chance of them ever reaching 51 percent a "fraud" and an "illusion."

Whatever. If players don't agree to it by Wednesday, Stern said they would get a deal that would guarantee them just 47 percent of BRI and call for a flex salary cap.

Would you vote for a candidate facing sexual harassment charges?

In light of the many conservatives who are defending Herman Cain against sexual harassment charges I began to wonder. Do conservatives really care if he committed sexual harasment charges or not and would it have any effect on how they voted. Would you hold sexual harassment charges against a candidate?

Does Panera Bread have racist policies towards black employees?

A white man claims he was fired as manager of a suburban Panera Bread shop for repeatedly having a black man work the cash register instead of putting him in a less visible location and having "pretty young girls" be the cashiers.

Scott Donatelli contends in a federal lawsuit he was denied extra medical leave and was fired in September after double hip replacement surgery earlier this year. He claims the reason was that he bucked race-related personnel rules communicated to him by a district manager for Sam Covelli, a franchisee based in Warren, Ohio, about 80 miles northwest of Pittsburgh.
