Black group boycotting event at which Tavis Smiley is speaking

The choice of Tavis Smiley as a last-minute keynote speaker for the annual Martin Luther King, Jr. Luncheon in Peoria is causing some controversy. Smiley has been critical of President Obama for not having done enough for African Americans. A local book club is boycotting the event because of Smiley's stance on President Obama.
