Recess appointments by every president since Reagan

There is a lot of moaning and bitching by republicans about President Obama's recces appointment of Richard Cordray as head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Supposedly he is making some type of power grab. That just got me to wondering how many recess appointments did other presidents make. Below is a chart of recess appointments made by every president since Reagan.

According to reports from the Congressional Research Service, during their time in office President Ronald Reagan made 240 recess appointments, President George H. W. Bush made 77 recess appointments, President Bill Clinton made 140 recess appointments, and George W. Bush made 171. Obama has seen a 28.
